camera shots & angles

Establishing Shot
While filing this shot I had to get onto a high surface to capture full essence of the setting. I was trying to show the setting of what I was filming so the audience could understand more of what was happening.

Close up
This was supposed to show the audience of what was happening, basically a following scene of what was happening in the establishing scene. This eases the audience into what is happening. I had to walk along with the actors and record closely towards the ground.

Extreme close up
What happens in this scene is supposed to show the audience the key detail go her falling. It's meant to be big impact on the story as it focussing on only one thing and nothing else. Which is the girl falling. I had to squat down and really stay still to film this.

Full shot
This is so the character can be focused on but now we see the background and her. So there is a balance of what is happening between her and the surroundings. I had to step father away from the character but and bend a little so I could film her whole body from head to toe in the frame.
Wide shot
Notice how in this shot the character is a lot farther form the scene and the audience feels distant from her and it now focussing on how the background is. This resembles the relationship of how the character is lost and does't feel herself and how the setting is taking over her. I simply just had to film farther away and capture the character in the middle. Honestly, easiest scene to film.

  1. I really enjoyed your extreme close-up shot, and your establishing shot. The extreme close-up shot gives me a feeling of suspicion, as I lock myself in the hole in the ground; a danger, which made the person fall. The establishing shot gives me a feeling of awe, and peace conveyed by all the beautiful greenery.

  2. hi kash, i really love your establishing shot. the use of the greenery of the school really lets you appreciate the things that we see in our daily lives since we go here everyday. the slight pan also makes the space look wide and big adding depth to the shot. i also love your close-up scene of the walking, it adds a sense of suspense, leading the viewers to wonder why they were walking, did something happen? wonderfully done <3
